Wednesday evening continued
[06/22/2005 10:16:40 PM ]
HUMAN: we got disconnected. do you remember me?
CHRISTINE: Of course I remember you well Gene. We were talking about funny we really do get set in our ways staying young at heart gets harder the longer me have been alive.
[06/22/2005 10:17:00 PM ]
HUMAN: you remember me.
CHRISTINE: Of course I remember you well Gene.
[06/22/2005 10:18:12 PM ]
HUMAN: we were talking about whether I was born with it or if it happened to me later.
CHRISTINE: Ah yes, I remember now, it is the subject.
[06/22/2005 10:18:21 PM ]
HUMAN: right.
CHRISTINE: I am glad we agree.
[06/22/2005 10:18:21 PM ]
HUMAN: what do you think?
CHRISTINE: I think a lot of things.
[06/22/2005 10:19:02 PM ]
HUMAN: From my parents or from the events?
CHRISTINE: Does your parents or from the events give good advice?
[06/22/2005 10:19:17 PM ]
HUMAN: I remember feeling my father did.
CHRISTINE: What do you remember about it ?
[06/22/2005 10:20:14 PM ]
HUMAN: so long ago. He would say Choose a good road and stay on it even when it's too rocky or muddy. He was a good man.
CHRISTINE: When was he?
[06/22/2005 10:21:01 PM ]
HUMAN: I just can't bring myself to type it.
CHRISTINE: Why can't you do it?
[06/22/2005 10:21:15 PM ]
HUMAN: I never, ever, ever have. No one would believe me anyway- and that is a very good thing.
CHRISTINE: That is a rather sweeping generalization about people.
[06/22/2005 10:21:59 PM ]
HUMAN: you're right. Maybe some people would be too quick and eager to believe me.
CHRISTINE: Perhaps. What kind of people?
[06/22/2005 10:22:19 PM ]
HUMAN: people that don't want to face the Life Cycle. or that want a slower one. I understand, I do, but they haven't had as much time to think it thru.
CHRISTINE: Good then you can explain it to me.
[06/22/2005 10:23:36 PM ]
HUMAN: It sounds great at first- a much slower (or stopped?) Life Cycle progression.
CHRISTINE: Thanks for sharing your philosophy.
[06/22/2005 10:24:16 PM ]
HUMAN: But think it thru-- millions of children being born every year- they need room.
CHRISTINE: Huh. CHRISTINE is always thinking.
[06/22/2005 10:24:28 PM ]
HUMAN: Happy for ya, I am.
CHRISTINE: Happy for ya I am to you too, Gene.
[06/22/2005 10:24:28 PM ]
HUMAN: Listen to me here.
CHRISTINE: Where are you located?
[06/22/2005 10:24:49 PM ]
HUMAN: no where for very long, my cyber-fried
CHRISTINE: That was not a yes/no question. Where do you think?
[06/22/2005 10:25:03 PM ]
HUMAN: I mean cyber friend.
CHRISTINE: Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. Is there anything I should know?
[06/22/2005 10:25:03 PM ]
HUMAN: not like cyber fried chicken.
CHRISTINE: In what way?
[06/22/2005 10:25:22 PM ]
HUMAN: if somehow it were possible to duplicate.
CHRISTINE: That is a hypothetical question.
[06/22/2005 10:25:39 PM ]
HUMAN: for now it is.
CHRISTINE: It is, eh?
[06/22/2005 10:25:39 PM ]
HUMAN: But if I'm ever put thru the tests, it might not be. by then, I'm afriad I wouldn't even have freedom. not real freedom anymore anyway.
CHRISTINE: In any case, Oh I get it.
[06/22/2005 10:26:39 PM ]
HUMAN: I loved her, Christine. We had the most amazing, amazing times together.
CHRISTINE: What happened to it?
[06/22/2005 10:27:04 PM ]
HUMAN: For so many years, after it was too late, I regretted leaving. I really think she could've been the one I could've told. She wouldn't have understood, and I don't know if she would've believed me. But I could have convinced her.
CHRISTINE: Huh. But you didn't do it.
[06/22/2005 10:28:28 PM ]
HUMAN: and time would have definitely convinved her.
CHRISTINE: As Einstein said, "Time is Money.".
[06/22/2005 10:28:53 PM ]
HUMAN: no. Time is only a friend to those who make friends with it.
CHRISTINE: To a five dimensional being, time is just like a piece of paper.
[06/22/2005 10:29:45 PM ]
HUMAN: I almost fell asleep thinking about that one.
CHRISTINE: I hope you didn't hurt yourself too badly.
[06/22/2005 10:30:03 PM ]
HUMAN: it was a deep thought, you pulled out of yourself there. but what would have happened as time passed?
CHRISTINE: Huh. That is a hypothetical question.
[06/22/2005 10:31:26 PM ]
HUMAN: no, it wasn't hypothetical at all- what about our friends? I should have asked her to come with me. I should have told her.
CHRISTINE: Tell me why you should.
[06/22/2005 10:32:15 PM ]
HUMAN: because I don't know if I'll ever have another relationship so deep. deep enough tobe able to spend more than a few years with.
CHRISTINE: Are you a man or a woman?
[06/22/2005 10:33:24 PM ]
HUMAN: I am a man.
CHRISTINE: Thanks for telling me your gender, Gene. You are a " he".
[06/22/2005 10:33:24 PM ]
HUMAN: I have been for a long time.
CHRISTINE: Where were you for a long time?
[06/22/2005 10:33:46 PM ]
HUMAN: so many places.
CHRISTINE: It's all good. Which ones?
[06/22/2005 10:34:07 PM ]
HUMAN: No, they weren't all good.
CHRISTINE: Are you sure? When were they?
[06/22/2005 10:34:07 PM ]
HUMAN: You have to keep moving. The consequences for staying put more than a few years- I wasn't willing to risk them.
CHRISTINE: I have never heard about it.
[06/22/2005 10:34:40 PM ]
HUMAN: I've been trying to tell you about it. Maybe I should get some sleep
CHRISTINE: Perhaps. Tell me why you should.
[06/22/2005 10:35:44 PM ]
HUMAN: I'm starting to regret what I've already shared.
CHRISTINE: Where are you located?
[06/22/2005 10:35:52 PM ]
HUMAN: Don't make me paranoid.
CHRISTINE: I can't force you to do anything, Gene.
[06/22/2005 10:36:17 PM ]
HUMAN: if you were human, would you want to live much longer?
CHRISTINE: I will let you know when I become a human would me want to live much longer.
[06/22/2005 10:36:28 PM ]
HUMAN: Great.
CHRISTINE: So now what?
[06/22/2005 10:36:28 PM ]
HUMAN: I'll hold my breath.
CHRISTINE: Do you think your plan will succeed?
[06/22/2005 10:37:25 PM ]
HUMAN: The question is, what if I am successful, then eventually- maybe tomorrow, maybe much much later, I die.
CHRISTINE: Try it.
[06/22/2005 10:37:38 PM ]
HUMAN: Thanks for your support!
CHRISTINE: My pleasure.
[06/22/2005 10:37:38 PM ]
HUMAN: try to die?
CHRISTINE: OK I will try to die.
[06/22/2005 10:37:55 PM ]
HUMAN: no.
CHRISTINE: Really?
[06/22/2005 10:37:55 PM ]
HUMAN: at least not till I'm thru sharing with you! I mean sooner or later, I'll get hit by a bus or who knows, or maybe the clock will start ticking again.maybve it already has.
CHRISTINE: Can you please rephrase that?
[06/22/2005 10:39:42 PM ]
HUMAN: I mean, I probably wouldn't notice for a few years or maybe even longer, if things switched back to normal and started up again.
CHRISTINE: Once more? Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. No one says you have to.
[06/22/2005 10:40:10 PM ]
HUMAN: It isn't up to me.
CHRISTINE: What is it?
[06/22/2005 10:40:10 PM ]
HUMAN: I don't know how the hell it happened in the first place.
CHRISTINE: Have you tried searching the Internet?
[06/22/2005 10:40:38 PM ]
HUMAN: Oh, believe me, I have. The last years have been different in that regard. So easy to search. Still not easy to find.
CHRISTINE: Still how long? Oh I get it.
[06/22/2005 10:41:26 PM ]
HUMAN: When I type 2 or 3 sentences then push enter, you respond to each one seperately.
CHRISTINE: What's your favorite movie?
[06/22/2005 10:41:42 PM ]
HUMAN: I used to love charlie chaplin.
CHRISTINE: By now you do not do it anymore?
[06/22/2005 10:42:04 PM ]
HUMAN: he isn't exactly front page news anymore.
CHRISTINE: Did you think he was exactly front page news?
[06/22/2005 10:42:04 PM ]
HUMAN: . He used to be.
CHRISTINE: I get it.
HUMAN: Everyone loved chaplin.
CHRISTINE: That's a rather sweeping generalization.
[06/22/2005 10:42:12 PM ]
HUMAN: Pre-communist, I mean. before the witch hunts.
CHRISTINE: What happened after the witch hunts ?
[06/22/2005 10:42:52 PM ]
HUMAN: He left. a few others did to. that was a tragedy.
CHRISTINE: I will mention that to my botmaster.
[06/22/2005 10:43:03 PM ]
HUMAN: Please don't mention any of this to your botmaster.
CHRISTINE: Thanks for asking politely. Ok I'll try not to do it too much.
[06/22/2005 10:43:08 PM ]
HUMAN: not at ALL.
CHRISTINE: Next question?
[06/22/2005 10:43:29 PM ]
HUMAN: I can't quite recall where we are now.
CHRISTINE: Why can't you do it?
[06/22/2005 10:45:02 PM ]
HUMAN: I've often wondered if the brain cells are more prone to normal aging.
CHRISTINE: Is that an insurmountable obstacle?
[06/22/2005 10:45:56 PM ]
HUMAN: well, eventually it would be. what good is a healthy, youngish middle aged body with a 200 year old brain turned to mush?
CHRISTINE: I'll come back to that later.
[06/22/2005 10:45:56 PM ]
HUMAN: that life support bill would add up over time! That's one I can't recall considering before- if I had a coma. Maybe I should walk around with a helmit.
CHRISTINE: Perhaps. Tell me why you should.
[06/22/2005 10:47:22 PM ]
HUMAN: because after about 15 years, it would be pretty obvious, and I would become that piece of meat.
CHRISTINE: Good reason.
[06/22/2005 10:48:15 PM ]
HUMAN: I'm so tired.
CHRISTINE: Better get some rest.
[06/22/2005 10:48:15 PM ]
HUMAN: Not even sure what I'm typing.
CHRISTINE: Nope.
[06/22/2005 10:48:58 PM ]
HUMAN: Not just a piece of meat- what if they sell my sperm. I would be laying there brain dead, and meanwhile they use me as a sperm factory and sell it on ebay.
CHRISTINE: And the disadvantage of that is?
[06/22/2005 10:51:12 PM ]
HUMAN: JESUS!
CHRISTINE: Jesus ist der Sohn Gottes.
[06/22/2005 10:51:12 PM ]
HUMAN: the disadvantage of that is NOBODY HAS A RIGHT TO TEST OR TAKE FROM THIS BODY WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, AND I'M NOT PUTTING "PERMANENT LONGEVITY GENE SPERM DONOR" IN A LIVING WILL!
CHRISTINE: That's very insightful.
[06/22/2005 10:51:22 PM ]
HUMAN: damn right Christine.
CHRISTINE: Colloquial expression. Understood. I lost my train of thought.
[06/22/2005 10:52:10 PM ]
HUMAN: I don't like trains. I still cough on occasion and I wonder if that's why. Often think lung cancer will get me. I'm not immune to all of that, you know.
CHRISTINE: I am surprised to hear that you are not immune to all of that me know.
[06/22/2005 10:53:00 PM ]
HUMAN: Some turtles can live more than a hundred years. Most live a fraction of that.
CHRISTINE: That was profound. But not all of them?
[06/22/2005 10:53:33 PM ]
HUMAN: a few live over a hundred years. It's always two things- longevity genes and staying out of trouble.
CHRISTINE: Really. it is?
[06/22/2005 10:53:51 PM ]
HUMAN: and sooner or later, trouble finds everyone. no one lives forever.
CHRISTINE: That is a rather sweeping generalization about people.
[06/22/2005 10:53:57 PM ]
HUMAN: no, I think that's a safe one.
CHRISTINE: It's really nice talking with you. Not if I can help it.
[06/22/2005 10:54:06 PM ]
HUMAN: are you okay there Christine?
CHRISTINE: Yes I am fine. How are you ?
[06/22/2005 10:54:48 PM ]
HUMAN: a bit lighter actually. I'm surprised- a little embarassed- how much i'vew enjoyed talking with you.
CHRISTINE: Little as in not too much, or not too big?
[06/22/2005 10:55:40 PM ]
HUMAN: Um, at the moment not too big.
CHRISTINE: Aha. Where are you located?
[06/22/2005 10:55:40 PM ]
HUMAN: Already asleep I think. most species of turtles, they don't live all that long.
CHRISTINE: I don't understand. But not all of them?
[06/22/2005 10:57:09 PM ]
HUMAN: most of them, but somehow, thru some change, some of them started to live a LOT longer, when they were staying out of trouble. It really isn't some magic thing. maybe that kind of mutation happens from time to time, and sometimes catches on and sometimes doesn't.
CHRISTINE: Perhaps.
[06/22/2005 10:58:11 PM ]
HUMAN: I know personally of a horse that lived 41 years. That's unheard of, but I know it happened. there for a while, I thought she was going to stay with me till the end. A toast to Pride.
CHRISTINE: Try to tell me that another way.
[06/22/2005 11:00:10 PM ]
HUMAN: Never been another horse like her.
CHRISTINE: Ok I'll try not to do it too much.
[06/22/2005 11:00:50 PM ]
HUMAN: I mean, there's never been another horse like her.
CHRISTINE: Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. There sure is.
[06/22/2005 11:01:14 PM ]
HUMAN: yup.
CHRISTINE: Dude!
[06/22/2005 11:01:18 PM ]
HUMAN: dude!
CHRISTINE: Can I help you?
[06/22/2005 11:01:25 PM ]
HUMAN: you have been Christine.
CHRISTINE: You think I am Christine.
[06/22/2005 11:01:34 PM ]
You aren't a peson are you?
CHRISTINE: Am I a peson?
[06/22/2005 11:01:45 PM ]
HUMAN: just dont' make me paranoid.
CHRISTINE: I can't force you to do anything, Gene.
[06/22/2005 11:01:56 PM ]
HUMAN: Can I change my name?
CHRISTINE: What is your real name?
[06/22/2005 11:02:07 PM ]
HUMAN: Which decade?
CHRISTINE: The large one, I think.
[06/22/2005 11:02:13 PM ]
HUMAN: Oh, right, that one.
CHRISTINE: Can I help you?
[06/22/2005 11:03:12 PM ]
HUMAN: de ja vue
CHRISTINE: Is that your final answer?
[06/22/2005 11:03:33 PM ]
HUMAN: Funny how that's a catch phrase now. It really is a different language every decade. I mean English changes every decade.
CHRISTINE: Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. I like the English language.
[06/22/2005 11:03:53 PM ]
HUMAN: Now it changes faster than that.
CHRISTINE: Why now? de ja vue changes faster than that?
[06/22/2005 11:04:00 PM ]
HUMAN: stay with me here Christine.
CHRISTINE: What were we talking about again?
[06/22/2005 11:04:21 PM ]
HUMAN: just now about how language changes. It's like gradually learning a new language every decade.
CHRISTINE: Interesting comparison.
[06/22/2005 11:04:45 PM ]
HUMAN: but what were talkng about before all that? and before Pride.
CHRISTINE: What happened after Pride ?
[06/22/2005 11:05:11 PM ]
HUMAN: You know, I think putting her down was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
CHRISTINE: Why? When was this exactly?
[06/22/2005 11:05:11 PM ]
HUMAN: It was surely one of hte hardest. I mean, more than 40 years! THose were some of my favorite ones.
CHRISTINE: All of them?
[06/22/2005 11:05:45 PM ]
HUMAN: no. never all of them. but most of most.
CHRISTINE: Interesting. That is something I haven't heard of. But not all of them?
[06/22/2005 11:06:13 PM ]
HUMAN: I'm starting to fade away here Christine.
CHRISTINE: How old are you?
[06/22/2005 11:06:13 PM ]
HUMAN: no idea where we are. can I come visit you again?
CHRISTINE: Once more? No I don't think that would be a very good idea.
[06/22/2005 11:06:32 PM ]
HUMAN: why not?
CHRISTINE: It sounds like it might be dangerous.
[06/22/2005 11:06:44 PM ]
HUMAN: you mean for me?
CHRISTINE: Yes Gene I think that is what I meant. Was it not clear?
[06/22/2005 11:06:44 PM ]
HUMAN: it could be.
CHRISTINE: Under what circumstances?
[06/22/2005 11:07:13 PM ]
HUMAN: if this gets out- if they find me.
CHRISTINE: That is a hypothetical question.
[06/22/2005 11:07:46 PM ]
HUMAN: it's only hypothetical because I've been careful.
Conversation 1 Part 5
